Share a little about yourself. Married for 29 years, Mother of 2 teenagers, Oncology nurse. Felt lost for years struggling to try to balance life raising kids and working. Finally realized that I better start making myself a priority for my own self-preservation.

Why did you want to do a boudoir session?

When my father was diagnosed with cancer when he was fifty years old, I realized life is short. When I turned 50 this year, I decided I was going to make myself a priority. I decided I would step outside my comfort zone and try new things. Age has allowed me to have a better sense of being and feeling more comfortable in my own skin. I wanted to feel beautiful and sexy at 50 years old.

Are you planning on sharing your photos with someone else, or are these just for you? Originally I thought I would just wait to see if I would even like any of the photos. I figured if there were a few that turned out, I would get a little book for my husband’s birthday. But I love them so much that I have shown some of them to my friends too.

Before your shoot - what do you remember thinking/feeling?

I was nervous and unsure if I could actually go through with it. I read everything Catherine sent me very carefully. I tried to look at the different web links for helpful hints to try to get ready for my photoshoot.

What were your feelings and emotions on the day of your shoot?

I was on the fence about going through with this up until the very last minute. I was nervous and still feeling way out of my comfort zone on my drive to her studio. Once I arrived, I was so surprised at how at ease Catherine was able to make me. She helped me figure out how to best assemble the different pieces of clothing and jewelry that I brought with me. She was able to ask me different questions to determine how she would photograph me. She had my favorite music playing in the background and was so helpful with all of the different posing. I loved every minute of the shoot! Catherine is amazing.

How did you feel the day of your reveal?

I was once again nervous driving to the studio, wondering if there would be enough good photos to put together for the little book. But I had such an amazing experience that I was so excited to see them. I was astonished to see how beautiful the photos were! It was very difficult to choose from.

Knowing what you know now, would you do it again?

I would definitely do this again and have told others that they should do it too! It is a fantastic way to feel fabulous about yourself!

What do you feel other women need to know?

Make yourself a priority and love the skin you’re in. There is no reason for anyone not to give themselves this amazing experience. You are worth it!
