Styled Theme Boudoir sessions are amazingly fun and creative and always get a lot of attention when I post photos from them. I’ve had more than one person confess to me that they’ve always wanted to do one, but they weren’t sure what to do during them. Well, fear not, because I’m here to tell you that I can help you discover exactly the right look for you!
This is a Collaboration
While some people do have an idea of what they want to portray in the session, just as many people have no idea. It’s my job to help you brainstorm on what look you are going for.
These sessions take some planning to go off without a hitch, so before your session, we will have a consultation to discuss all the things you should know before, during, and after the session.
What Are you into?
What floats your boat? What floats his boat? What are you both together? It can be something as simplistic as a romantic and lacy red-themed valentine session or something more Game of Thrones elaborate. Into Comic books? Michigan sports themes or hunting?
Really, anything goes, but I have one rule: safety first. If you want to come in and get decked out in camo holding his gun, I am totally down with that, but we’ll need to discuss the particulars first.
Makeup and Wardrobe
This is a big consideration for these sessions, so we’ll talk through how the process works before you book. If you have some photo inspiration, I’d love to see it, so we can discuss how long (and how elaborate) the makeup and wardrobe choices will need to be to get the look. In general, I find that keeping the sessions interesting, yet uncluttered makes for the best photographs. While we want to have some fun with this, we also want to be sure we are showcasing you and not just a costumed version of you with a lot of props.
From Outrageous to Romantic
While these sessions can, for sure, be widely creative, they can also be understated and romantic. Think pin-up girls, a vintage look or a sexy schoolgirl. If you feel like you want to take it up a notch during your session, then off we go. We can adapt any themed session to your comfort level!
