What if I’m awkward in photos?
One of the most important parts of a boudoir session happens before the camera even comes out.
When a woman walks into the studio clearly nervous, the first thing I do is slow everything down.

There is no rushing into photos. Instead, we take time to settle in.
We talk. We laugh. She meets the hair and makeup artist. She starts to get comfortable in the space.
Hair and makeup actually plays a much bigger role in the experience than many people realize. It gives women time to relax and ease into the day while someone is taking care of them.

For many clients, this becomes the moment where the nerves begin to melt away.
There is conversation. Music playing. Laughter. A relaxed atmosphere that feels more like getting ready with friends than preparing for a photoshoot.
By the time hair and makeup is finished, something has already started to change.
The studio no longer feels like a scary photoshoot.
It starts to feel like a comfortable, supportive space. And when we begin photographing, I guide everything.

Most women who come into my studio have never done a photoshoot like this before. They do not know how to pose and they are not expected to.
That is my job.
I demonstrate poses. I adjust hands and shoulders. I guide them through where to look and how to move.
Everything is done step by step.
Within the first few photos, something interesting usually happens.
The nerves begin to melt away.
What replaces them is curiosity.

Women start wondering what the photos look like. They start trusting the process.
And that is when the magic really begins.
